Hi all,

I have laser surgery to treat some dysplasia on the side of my tongue in september. The surgery went well, and pathology came back as mild dysplasia with clear margins. From what i undestand the surgeon chose laser to remove the minimum amount of tissue possible. Looking at the wound afterwards, it looked like a burnt crater in the side of my tongue.
Since the surgery i have had developed a fleshy growth on the wound site. Its the same colour as my tongue, and very soft. I saw my surgeon at the end of October for routine follow up, and he described this growth as being a "granulation" and can be a side effect of laser.
The growth is definetly growing larger and its beginning to feel sore.
I have read about granualtion and the description and photos do look what i have.
I was curious if anyone else has had this after laser?

Thanks all
