Dear All,

I hate to write this but David died Wednesday February 16th at 1:30am.

The tumor had grown considerably and became very aggressive. He had some episodes of blacking out, so we felt that the tumor was compromising some artery etc. We stopped chemo on the 8th and he was gone a week later. He was alert, talking to friends and family that flew in to see him, but them slipped into a sleep and then coma on the 12th. At that point I knew that I could handle this stage and kept him at home instead of admitting him to Hospice. The nurses came in to help me when needed and he died peacefully and WITHOUT pain.

I am numb. I still can't get my head wrapped around the fact that he is gone. I think this a a blessing at the moment. The funeral was Saturday and it was well attended and it gives me joy to see how loved he was.

So dear ones, we never thought we would be here. Right up to last Tuesday, we still thought we would beat this. David was optomistic through to the end. He was the love of my life and I will miss him, but I won't miss this disease.

I pray for you all that a cure is just around the corner. I pray that you all may endure, and fight the good fight until those magical words are spoken, "we have a solution for oral cancer!"

Thank you for this wonderful site. I have requested that all memorials go to the Oral Cancer Fund or the local Hospice. You can find his OBIT under ajc.com/obits ( David Regts)

Love,

Brenda Regts
