Hi, I'm a first time poster looking for some guidance/support. Approx 1 1/2 months ago I went to my family dr for help with recurrent, I believe, silent reflux sx( lump in chest after eating, neck tightness, food going down slowly/sticking in chest, stomach pain)and a painless lump on my left neck x a couple weeks. (I have also had an occasional cough with eating when food seems to tickle my left throat)She felt it,said it was a lymph node and let's wait 1 month to see if it got better. She started me on ranitidine 150 mg qd which has helped with the sx mentioned. The lymph fluctuated in size so after 3 weeks I scheduled with ENT. He felt it and said let's do a scope in the office just to make sure I don't have any lumps/masses in my nose or throat. While doing the scope he found my left lingual tonsil was enlarged. So, he ordered a Ct w/contrast. Just got the results 2 days ago and it came back within normal limits on the lymph node with no other abnormal lymphs. Ent said the radiologist didn't comment on the enlargement at the back of my tongue but he could see it on the ct. So, he said we could do 1 of 2 things: wait and watch or do a bx. I choose bx and that was done yesterday under general anesthesia. Not really having pain, just tired and throat is a little scratchy with swallowing. At my first appt to ent I had no sx from the tongue lump but have since started to have occasional, slight L ear pressure and pressure under my L chin. For the past two nights I've woken up a little sweaty. Now I'm just waiting 4-5 days for the bx to come back.....I'm very scared, I have a beautiful child and all I can think about is leaving him with a mommy:( This is my first time posting, hope I'm doing this right.... After researching my sx online it seems like LPR (silent) reflux could cause my lingual tonsil to enlarge but I'm not sure about the lymph node in my neck, which seems to fluctuate in size but usually remains harder. Any insight would be so appreciated.
