New here. I am a licensed NY State Speech Language Pathologist. My dear cousin, who is in his mid 70s has melanoma on palate with reddening swelling to dentition on one side. All pre-testing and biopsies show no metastatic lesions in cervical spine, brain, lungs, no lymph node involvement , no vocal cord involvement. Surgeon will try to save teeth and jaw on affected side.

Of course , only when surgeon at Mt. Sinai here in NY performs surgery will he know extent of lesion.

I will be back to post but any input from anyone having this rare form of oral cancer, is welcomed.

Thanks

Terri
