He actually was given a prescription for Lovenox with repeats for six months. The nurses at the radiation clinic did say that unfortunately this happens more often than people imagine.
On the positive side, after a few days, John's movements have greatly improved. At one point he was having trouble getting up from the chair and standing. But after five days of two daily injections, he is now moving without needing help.
