I just finished treatment, and my left eye was closing from eye lid weakness, I believe, but I'm blind in the left eye anyway from chemo in November 2009 with Taxotere, Cisplatin, 5-FU causing ocular toxicity, which caused or contributed to several eye diseases...Optic Ischemic Neuropathy, and Neovascular Glaucoma that made me blind 8 months later. Before the blindness, one pupil was bigger than the other for quite some time, which is caused by many factors, but I didn't seek further treatment, being I was in the hospital or 6 months, and didn't want to go back to see anyone about it. This same eye changed to a dark color after the blindness, surgery, probably from blood, and my right eye is blue. Last week I went to my Opthomolgist, who did my eye surgery, to check my eyes by doing a dilation, and optic nerve tests, which were found to be ok, except the blindness, but gave me cortisone cream for the eye irritation, and dryness.
Surgery for a neck dissection can cause blindness, but not sure to what extent for other conditions. The same with radiation, can cause blindness, chemotoo, and other eye conditions, If there is damage to certain nerves. I would also see an Opthomolgist to have the eyes checked, because once your vision goes, it may not come back. Good luck.
