OP Platinum Member (300+ posts) Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 476 | Hi. John had a root canal done years ago on an upper tooth. The tooth started bothering him a couple of months ago. John went to the dentist who referred him to the Endodontist (sp). He put him on an antibiotic and opened up the canal to let the infection drain. He has seen the Endo twice after this. Today he went for the 3rd time and the tooth has not settled down and the Endo said the root is fractured and the tooth is going to have to come out.
John finally has a wonderful Oral Surgeon (thanks Anita!) who is fully aware that John will need HBO dives before the extraction. I'm just looking for some 1st hand information from people who have gone through this and what exactly is involved.
John owns his own business and now through the end of the year is his busiest time and he is reluctant to get started with this. Thanks for any help.
