I just left my husband a while ago, hooked up to his first of 3 chemo treatments. Very nervous cuz of unknowns - side effects, reactions, etc. It just felt so wrong to leave him there, but he insisted cuz he planned to go to sleep for the 4-5 hours he would be there! :-) I know we'll get thru, just wish it was next week already! We changed chemo docs last week cuz he did NOT feel comfortable with the other practice. Love the new doc, philosophies, practice and the fact that he trained at Moffitt. But, he likes 3x cisplatin instead of 7x; which means stronger dosage. That's a little scary. On the positive side, we're 1/3 way thru chemo and 1/7 thru rad - YAY!!
Husband Dx SCC left tonsil 6/2012 - T2/N2b, stg 4A. 48 y/o, never smoked, occasional drinker. Both tonsils removed + neck dissection, 6/28/12. 18 nodes removed (2 pos). 7x5 RAD, started 7/30 and 3x cisplatin, started 8/3. Port inserted 8/2. Still deciding: PEG?
