Do what he says - take your meds as prescribed, if the problem still hasn't gone away go back again. Show him the exact area and ask for biopsy. Tell him this had gone on long enough and you want it figured out. Plus a biopsy will ease your mind once you have a definitive result. Also how is it he thinks you may have an infected submandibular gland yet can't palpate it? Usually they swell if infected... good luck and take care.
