I also had tonsil cancer (right tonsil), but some of mine had spread to some nodes on the left side. I had 7 weeks of radiation, with one day each week chemo. You didn't mention chemo, so probably your doctors decided you didn't need it. You have a good attitude, and sounds like a wonderful wife, which will help you through your treatments. Like the others said, EAT, EAT, EAT. There will be a time when your mouth will be so sore you won't be able to eat anything but drink liquid supplements. You didn't mention a PEG (feeding tube). Do you have one? Everyone is different, you'll see when you read the posts on this Forum that there are members who never had a feeding tube - maybe you'll be one of those. Hope so. Nov 2007 SCC on right tonsil following tonsillectomy. Was smoker, QUIT. (Stage IV T2 N2b) 7 weeks radiation one day/wk chemo (carboplatin and 5-FU). Allergic to Taxol; PEG in, lost 30 lbs. TX completed January 2008. PEG out mid- 2008. PET/CT 1/17/2011;2/3/12 NEGATIVE for cancer smile
