Hank, becoming dehydrated will make you feel terrible. Its also a dangerous situation, especially when you are trying to recover. Ive gone thru dehydration a few times and got stuck being hospitalized for it. Dont forget you can always hit up the ER to get hydrated if you feel you cant wait til Monday. Your doc may suggest a quick nasal tube, that would be done right away and is more of a temporary feeding tube than the PEG which must be surgically inserted. Dont let yourself get so run down that it becomes an emergency situation. The first 2-3 weeks after rads is the hardest time period. Some people get a suction machine to help get the thick mucous out of their mouth and throat.
