Hi Raymond,
My case is rather similar to yours with stage IVB tonsil cancer (on the left).Never smoked or drank in my life. I didn't have any surgery done to remove the tumour or lymphnodes.I received 48 radiations and 4 chemo (Cisplatin)a year ago. No pain when you have the treatment so don't worry. But side effects are really disgusting. Dry mouth, sore throat, nausea and fatigue. The most difficult time is two or three months after completing treatment. Sharing with other patients helps a great deal because your caregivers may not be able to understand how you feel. I was back to normal work 6 months after treatment and could eat normal food soon after. I am very ready to help should you have any doubts on anything.

Karen stage 4B (T3N3M0)tonsil cancer diagnosed in 9/2001.Concurrent chemo-radiation treatment ( XRT x 48 /Cisplatin x 4) ended in 12/01. Have been in remission ever since.
