I agree that they should admit you the night before for an early morning surgery -- I think years ago they did that! For the surgery I had in April, I had to be at Johns Hopkins by 5:30 AM and it was a 3 hour drive from where I live. We decided to just drive down that day because I know I wouldn't be able to sleep if we went down the day before. So I drove down and my husband drove home later that day!

I sure hope that this will be your last surgery! Please post an update when you can.
