I don�t know if the pain behind your belly button is a hernia or not. Or what sort of hernia. However, last summer my husband had a CT of his abdomen when his Mic-Key was too tight. It showed a hernia where the intestine had pulled away from the abdominal wall. It was just before chemo and rads, so everyone agreed to wait and worry about it later.

That was over 10 months ago. It�s been looked at several times since. It bulges out a bit and Tim pushes it back in. If he has horrible acute pain in the area, I am to take him to the ER. Tim is a professor and refuses to do anything before the end of the semester. And the doctors say that�s ok. He sees the surgeon in three weeks.

I think you can safely wait until your next appointment. But, please, go to the ER if you have acute pain.
