"OCF Canuck" Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 5,264 Likes: 5 | I can answer that - because he gave me my lead - 3 weeks into rads I had a few one on my tongue was very painful - however - he suggested Manuka honey - I knew it couldn't hurt - so I bought it and used it and three days later I was clear and have been since - they do pop up but a swish with the honey really helps - it is antibacterial, antiseptic, and cuts down on inflammation. I use 16 ( it comes in strengths) it is the highest organic Manuka you can get - I use it three to four times a day after I've eaten - and before bedtime - take a spoonful hold it in your mouth - it is swishable when it melts. Keep it there for 2-3 minutes and swallow. I have to be honest it does sting - but once they heal you will feel way better - mine were gone in 3 days. Good luck!!
