Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,844 | Gianna, Also understand, opiate pain medication can cause hearing loss as well, especially if taken long term. I got the double whammy with the 3 doses of cisplatin and long term opiate use. I'm very hard of hearing especially if there is background noise...pisses me off but can come in handy when I really "don't" want to listen  Good luck Eric
