I know how scared you are, and I would (and am) the same way until I get results of questionable things like your son has been advised. It could be something other than cancer, and I pray it is. Our mouths always seem to have bumps and other lesions that aren't cancerous, so try to relax and just wait for someone who knows cancer to tell you if it is or isn't. It's easy for someone to tell you not to worry, and I'm such a worrier myself, it's almost laughable, but it ISN'T cancer until someone diagnoses it as cancer. I'll be praying for you to get promising news from the oral surgeon Monday.

Nov 2007 SCC on right tonsil following tonsillectomy. Was smoker, QUIT. (Stage IV T2 N2b) 7 weeks radiation one day/wk chemo (carboplatin and 5-FU). Allergic to Taxol; PEG in, lost 30 lbs. TX completed January 2008. PEG out mid- 2008. PET/CT 1/17/2011;2/3/12 NEGATIVE for cancer smile
