If it is well differentiated the tumor will probably not metastasize into your jaw in 3 weeks. But, perineural involvement is something I know nothing about. Waiting is just about the hardest part.

I know there is a nerve that connects the tongue, the tip of the chin and the ear. But again, your pain could be something else entirely. Our imaginations can play havoc with our feelings.

Lots of questions to be asking your docs . . .
