Brandy, my daughter in law at age 19 and grandaughter at age 10 both had to have their colon completely removed due to a genetic condition called Familial Adenomatous Polyposis, It is a genetic condition. I think with my daughter in law it was a while before it was diagnosed, finally at the Mayo Clinic. Since her diagnosis she was told all her children had a 50% chance and sure enough first child was tested and also had to have this surgery. My understanding it creates these polyps throughout the colon. Might be something to look into.
