My tongue actually did get "tied" by scar tissue after my mandiblectomy. When I had the nerve graft surgery they clipped the scar tissue anchoring my tongue and did another skin graft rebuilding some of the lining in my mouth to help function. Now my function isn't great but it works and eating solids, talking is better.
