Right to Work states can fire you for any reason...UNLESS the company has an "Employee Handbook" that details the companies disciplanary & termination protocols, then they have to follow their handbook policies to the "t". However most cases in Right to Work states only affect whether or not the terminated employee is eligible for Unemployment Insurance and still protect the employer from wrongful termination suits.
As Charm pointed out, these cases are tough to prove. As an manager/employer I made sure I boned up on State, Federal and my employee handbook so that I could terminate without the concerns of lawsuits, most companies that's exactly what the HR departments are for. CYA.
However, don't let that stop your friend from looking into what their rights are.
