Also, she may find that some foods or even water tastes terribly metallic while others are OK -- my husband found our normal tap water became very metallic-tasting maybe 3 weeks into treatment (about the time he had his first brush with thrush). I tried a lot of bottled waters and some of these were also no good, perhaps because many have high mineral content. Eventually he found that Poland Spring and also, the bottled water from Trader Joe's was OK. But I am sure that is an individual thing.

Salt/soda and also, l-glutamine rinses may help with the after-taste. Sometimes a fruity flavor (bit of applesauce, for example) helps take the bad taste away.

And as was posted above, avoid metallic utensils and dishes.
