Two points, I too felt the same way about 2 months after treatment but it turned out to be mild depression and a small increase in meds changed my life in less than a week.
Second, I sell insurance for a livng and most of my conversations start with the client saying I hate insurance. I enjoy it none the less.
But I find my rewards in my volunteer work. I love saving broken little Schnauzers cleaning them up and healing them. Maybe not life or death for a person but it is for the dog.I have heard many times how much the addition of that little dog has improved people's quality of life. I have been in Rotary for 25+ years and on 10-14-2010 I will give a presentation to the club about Oral cancer. I have planted trees, sent tents to destroyed areas, I did some Therapy Dog work before I was diagnoised.
Every Non Profit I know is always desperate for volunteers. You can give back in a million different ways.
