The CT scan showed a 5 cm tumor at the very back of her gum. He said he would be able to remove it and a small portion of her jawbone without affecting the use of her jaw.
It hasn't spread to her lungs or ear canal but is showing in a few nodes. He will also remove some nodes. She will have a tracheotomy (sp?) and a peg tube inserted during the surgery and should only be in the hospital two or three days.
I noticed that her reaction to what the doctor said was a little strange and I will post about it sometime soon. I have a few questions for the people who have been diagnosed about the feelings involved.
Thanks for listening
