In Canada, daffodils are sold each April as a cancer fundraising project. I believe it has been quite successful. The purchaser has the option of receiving the flowers themselves, or having them sent to a hospitalized cancer patient. Daffodils are the logo/symbol of the Canadian Cancer Society. FYI
