We left today's appointment in great spirits! The doctor is so positive about the surgery and the results of the pathology report that he isn't recommending radiation. After discussing his opinion of a low chance of reoccurance and the fact that Tommy's chances of developing cancer somewhere else is only slightly higher than those who have not had cancer, he stated that Tommy will need to come in every 6 weeks to be checked and after each 6 month period the appointments will grow two weeks further apart. We're not sure what the cap is... but right now we don't even care! Tommy was cleared from any restriction on activities that he feels up to doing and as he works on eating and talking more (more??!!?) he should regain full functionallity. He even took the keys and drove home from the appointment so I guess I can start adding to the honey do list again. He's got some catching up to do! He plans on being back in the office on Monday. I'm guessing he won't be on many conference calls quite yet but he's anxious to get back to work! There should be minimal updates to this site now. Hopefully just a short "still all clear" after some appointments! Thanks to everyone for their positive thoughts, kind words, and prayers. It truly made a difference and helped get us through all this. You are wonderful! I asked Tommy what else he wanted in this post and he said "I'm going to Disney Land!".... I think he's back to abnormal.
