With a tobacco background and likely HPV- SCC and with a large primary I would not be to eager to avoid the radiation. I have seen way too many patients present themselves just like you only to see the cancer come back quickly resulting in additional loss of tongue and the pattern repeated until finally they had the radiation.

Why did they do a ND? Was there evidence of cancer in the nodes?
