As you might recall, Mike had a clear PET about a month ago, and was due to see ENT in early August but due to hoarseness I prompted him to go earlier.

Dr did the camera down the throat and found a "polyp" on the left side-----Mike originally had no primary but 1 node positive on right side.

Surgery was last Monday, doc didn't think it was anything. Called for results Thursday, and was told the pathologist was consulting with another pathologist. Ok, start to freak out.

Friday doc calls and says no cancer; we saw him today and the path report says "mild dysplasia with hyperkeratosis".

It was not a vocal cord polyp, but it is not cancer either. Doc said could have resulted from radiation inflammation, and said if he biopsied other areas of throat he probably would have found dysplasia from radiation.

It could come back, but the key is to catch it early.

Any advice/comments are welcome.
