You can start your own thread for advice, but since you didn't... It does sound like a 'typical' course of action, yes. I did have a PET scan that showed one very involved lymph node so I also had a neck dissection. There are those that are moving away from this surgery, but I'm happy I got those lymph nodes out as quickly as possible.
As far as the timing for the rest of the treatment, radiation and chemotherapy, I was told 4 to 6 weeks of healing from surgery before radiation and mine started 6 weeks later, mostly due to an overbooked radiation machine.
