Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 507 | I don't think my mucous problem was as bad as most, but I slept in a recliner until my PEG was removed.
The incline of the recliner helped me deal the mucous issues and not strangle on it and it kept me from rolling over on my PEG (which seemed to always be sore or infected).
I also used Robitussin DM (down the PEG) along with salt/soda gargles.
