Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 5,260 | Michele, to make sure of the reflux, they have a machine that you wear for 24 hrs to measure the acid you produce and to see if it is reflux, They put a couple of tubes thru your nose into your stomache and hook the machine to you. 24 hours later, they have the reflux either confirmed or you don't have it. I had this done but the reflux I had was too ,much for the machine to measure.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.
