It hurt like hell and was very uncomfortable. After about two weeks, I asked the doc to give me some relief so he loosened it up. Eventually I adjusted to it and to the ups and downs of maintaining the PEG. 18 months later it was removed. Some people get theirs out much sooner, but I wanted to make absolutely sure I was getting the proper nutrition so I could heal. All this is new to you now, but you will become a pro at it in no time. Just takes time and patience.
Nine years out. New normal with limitations, but surviving and living life to the fullest.
