Hi, I just joined after reading hundreds of posts here. And I realize that you guys are going to tell me to have this checked out by a dentist or an ENT, but....

I have a hard lump "in" my tongue. On the right-hand side and very close to the tip. You can't see the spot unless I squeeze the tongue between my teeth, and then it looks white. You can feel the hard spot when I rub the tongue between my fingers. It is a bump, not an ulcer and it's about the size of a pencil eraaser.

I have been having panic attacks over it. Oh, a little background: 33 year old female, went to the dentist 1 year ago.

Could this be a fibroma or permanent scar of some sort? how many cases of oral cancer present as a bump near the tip of tongue?

I know I am overly worried, and I actually feel quite silly considering what everyone here has gone through.
Thanks for any input.
