Never been there yet, but I am intrigued by its nickname:
"Santa Fe of the South" We are thinking of selling the house and relocating somewhere next year as my retirement pension does not cover the non reimbursed medical and dental bills ($5,000.00 for blue cross this year before the catastrophic coverage kicked in and $3,000.00 in dental which is not covered at all) and are exploring Asheville.
