Thank you for your input David and Christine. My son felt relieved hearing of your responses and how similar your experience is with his. It reinforced what the oral surgeon had discussed with him as well.

He hit the jackpot with that Oral surgeon. Turns out he works primarily with head and neck cancers at M.D.Anderson in Houston. He had just recently flew in to Orlando to assist with this "satellite" location.

I was proud when my son related to me how the surgeon and staff began explaining to him the CCC approach and requested permission for his case to be reviewed by the "team" at the regular meetings. He jumped right at it with excitement "knowing all about it".
His experience with his Dad and our research on OCF back then made for a good initial patient/doctor consultation.
They discussed the likely fungal infection, and addressed my son's concerns with Leukoplakia, genetics, and HPV connection. The doctor continued with talk on molecular suppressers, triggers, HPV research, smoking and all that cool stuff Brian Hill explains so well.
My son said it felt good to have rudimentary knowledge of the subjects, the research and the terminology. The doctor spoke at length with him, and then gave him a good lecture on not smoking being defined as not smoking, Ever. Period.

Thank you OCF.
