Sorry, having a hard time figuring out where to post this. Anyway, anyone coming down to MDACC, and if you have any questions/problems, please let me know. I live not far from the Med Ctr and have gone thru the gamut (just trying to figure out where to park was a nightmare). It was daunting for me (living here), can't imagine how overwelming it might be for those from out of town. I am more than willing, no HAPPY, to do anything here in Houston to make anyone's stay here better. I will research places to stay, take you to drs appts, check out anything you need/want to know. I will be on call for anyone; I feel a debt of gratitude that I could never repay from this forum; please let me help in any way.

One more thing, I know a lot of the drs at mdacc(more than I wish), so if you have any questions about any of this, just let me know (I am familiar with Head/Neck surgery, oncology and radiology, also dental and dermatology). We didn't do the PEG but many in our group did (but I know nothing about it). Hospitalized more than we wanted and learned the best way to help talk to your dr about it. Our head/neck surgeon, I had on my cell phone; and he had no problem with it. I have to say that all of our questions were answered very promptly, the nurses were incredible.

Amy,

I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and was DX with SCC on my tongue in Nov. I am working on getting into MDA for appointment Monday 12/15/08 and staying for work up. May have to go home and return Jan 09 for treatment. So now Im as stressed about traveling as about the disease.

If your offer is still good Id like to stay in touch with you in case I get lost or just totally freak out. I really dont know how to work this blog site too well. If you would consider communicating with me directly, my email is [email protected]

Thank you so much!

Mike

Annie...mighty generous of you. The world and its people are sooooo good, and you have just confirmed it! Thanks. I hope I don't need your help, but MDA will be my choice if I should need cancer treatment again. XO--Colleen
