First of all hi and excuse me for disturbing you with my litle problem, which is not so little to me, but in comparison with what is on this site it is. I used to be smoker for 2 years, 7-8 cigs a day. I am 21 years old. I had an unsualy feeling under my chin and, when I have looked under tongue, I saw that one gland salivary gland is bigger than the other and with some white translucid spost on it. I went to a otory...I don't know this word, anyway, to the doctor specialised in mouth, years, larynx, throat. She said to me that she doesn.t see anything abnormally. Still, that salivary gland is bigger and gives me creeps. Is it normal being bigger? Please answer my question if you have time an willing. Thank you very much. With respect, claudiu. P.S. excuse my english, I am from Romania. This is the picture again http://img193.imageshack.us/i/problemk.jpg/

Claudiu, welcome to the site and you are NOT disturbing us. No problem is "little" when speaking of a potential cancer. We are here to help you, but we can not diagnose your disease from a photograph. None of us are doctors, only fellow patients and caregivers. If it were me, i would get an referal to an ear nose and throat specialist without delay.

Keep us informed.

Thank you for that quick answer...The doctor you have just mentioned it saw my mouth...still, she said is nothing but she didn't said why is bigger my right side of under tongue...You see, not very much doctors in here, in Romania are pacient concerned...In one way I understand them...they work in miserable conditions with little pay...I will go to a private clinic to find out more...Anyway, if God helps me and will be nothing, I will still be reading forums on this site an try to do my best about these subjects...I saw only good people on this site...It's strange, but bad stuff happens most to good persons...Few criminals or dictators had anything close to this...Anyway, I have moved out of the subject...Thanks a lot and I will write after I will go to that private clinic...God helps and a lot of health, to all..

Hi claudiu

Salivary glands are also prone to "stones" which can cause a lot of swelling and pain.Your dentist can do a very simple test to see if your salivary gland is blocked .I know its easy to say,but try not to think of the worst case scenario first and get it checked out as soon as possible.

Like Gary and the others say, no problem is too small because if it could be something, the little problem could develop into a big one. Get it checked to be sure. Let us know.

Hi Cladiu,

We always have time and are willing to help anyone who needs it!! That's why we are here. If you already saw an ear, nose and throat doctor, I think you should go for a second opinion. If you did not get your questions answered you should go to someone who will tell you why one glad is larger. Please let us know what happens.

Claudiu,

I ama dentist and I can tell you that from the picture, it sure looks like a blocked salivary gland. Of course I can't make a diagnosis from a picture alone.

Do you have oral surgeons in your country? This might be your best bet to get it checked.

hi everyone...first of all I want to thank everyone for being so kind answering me...I was to onether otoralyngologist or something (years nose and throat doctor)and she said once more that it,s nothing...Again, she didn.t gave me much explanation on why is bigger, but she said that it.s nothing to worry about and she gave me moth wash with tea of sage and one and a half spoon of bicarbonate of sodium... I am so happy...For rest you, who didn.t had my luck, you have looked into the eyes of Evil himself and you are still here so, in my opinion, you are heroes, all of you. In front of you, I bound...With sicerely thanks, I, Claudiu Rusu, bound in front of you all. LONG LIVE THE HEROES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
