Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 5,260 | This morning , for some reason. both sides of my neck hurt , the right side of my throat , under my tongue, scar tissue they say, my right jaw has the tooth ache feeling,my throat on both sides and this is all combined with a sinus headache. Just talking outloud and not complaining. Whatever the cause I probably asked for it yesterday sometime. Maybe the change in the weather is doing it. Have a happy type day all and smile at everyone you see today.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Not to point out the obvious but have you read your own Signature Line which doesn't even include the chest issues? It's no wonder you have some pain issues from time to time. lol

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Between the neck dissection nerve damage and the fibrosis from the radiation, the muscles from upper back, across shoulders, up neck in back and on sides, and in upper chest, can all spasm from time to time, either individually, collectively or in a seemingly endless variation of groupings. :-0
It can sometimes feel like my tongue, ear or jaw actually hurts, but when I check more carefully, it is always an area of muscle spasm. Comes and goes, moves from side to side.
Also, in my particular case, I had two neck surgeries within 9 weeks (spinal fusion first, then neck dissection), some of the sensory nerves in the area still dead, and others are just coming back to life (unfortunately . . )
Sinus headache? Spring in Ohio, my man . . . .:-) Hang in there, buddy. You are doing great!
