It's great to hear how well you are doing.
Keep the good news coming and you deserve to be pampered.

I am through with the pain meds, just taking a couple of rapid release Tylenol when the throbbing starts. But to be honest, this whole thing was much easier than I expected. Hopefully that'll be encouraging for anyone preparing to go through the same thing. As a Mom of three kids, I tend to compare my pain to childbirth. This was no where near as painful as that.
Now that I am feeling good, I am starting to think about the fact that I am going to be having this all done again to rebuild my jawbone. The good Doc said that he'd like to wait 9-12 months before he does this. I am hoping to hold off for the full 12 months because the winter timing is better for us (hubby works construction and can be around to pamper me more in the winter). But I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't dreading it. Even though this was not so awful, I still hate to repeat the experience. I have decided that I'll just put this out of my mind for now, no sense thinking about it for a whole year.
On another note: I had my first meeting with the reporter that is going to do the oral cancer story in my local paper. I have referred her to this site for research and facts. I hope it does some good. I do think the timing of the article will be good because she will be running it a couple of weeks before the June walk in Chicago. I will be participating in the walk, hopefully it'll generate some dollars for OCF.
Hope everybody is well.

Now, they are everywhere. So where did your Mom get your name? I was named for a best friend of my Mother's[ 66 yrs. ago]. It sounds like you are doing wonderfully- Hooray . Please keep letting people pamper you-you need the rest . Are you looking for sponsors for your walk? I will be happy to sponsor you. Amy

My middle name is "Jo", what's yours? Almost every other Amy I have met over the years has the same middle name as me. Not that I have encountered many Amy's through the years. Maybe we could have our own little club for all of the wonderful Amys out here!
I am looking for sponsors for my walk and I of course, would love to have you sponsor me. I have set myself a goal to raise $10,000. I hope I am not setting myself up for failure. But with this number in mind, I am going to try really hard to meet that number. I guess if I should fall short, any amout I can raise will be a great help for OCD.

Sorry, my name is not Amy so I hope I can post here.
Happy to hear how great you are feeling and so soon. $10,000 is a noble goal and I'm sure you can attain it. A total of $20,000 was raised at last year's NYC walk. I am hoping that it can be doubled this year.
If you think it would help you, I would be happy to email you the letter I used last year to solicit donations.
Good luck with everything.

We could give VIP membership to those of you wishing to sponsor me for the Chicago walk. Any takers? C'mon guys and gals. I put a huge goal in print here, I need all the help I can get. Maybe I could even include a bumper sticker with your membership. Or an autographed photo. You can't beat a girl up for trying, can you?
