I always sweat when eating spicy foods...But basically, what Jerry's research is saying, is that the nerve damage throws our sweat glands into overdrive to get rid of excess fluid that our damaged salivary glands cannot....Too bad it wasn't the other way around...I suppose that would cause another set of issues, like drooling. LOL

Hi David. Thanks for your response and sorry for not responding earlier. I questioned my ENT about this and he said that it probably is nerve damage caused by radiation. I can't remember exactly how he put it, but something like the body is calling for more saliva and because of the nerve damage, the sweat glands respond. I get regular bloodwork done and TSH levels are OK as I've been on levoxyl for several years.

Hi Ray - Thanks for your info. I asked by ENT about it and he pretty much said what you're saying. The body is calling for saliva and instead, the sweat glands respond. All is due to radiational nerve damage. I never thought about the drooling, but I guess the forehead sweating isn't so bad after all!

Hi Jerry - I got to ask my ENT about this and although I don't remember if he specifically mentioned the parotid gland, he did say that this symptom is probably nerve damage from the radiation. Something like the body is calling for saliva and because of nerve damage, the sweat glands respond instead. Thanks for your response and the info about gustatory sweating. I sweat across the entire forehead, not only on one side. However, I am also diabetic so maybe that's part of the problem. Thanks again.
