Johnny,
I am so sorry to hear of your trouble. I remember stumbling upon your blog way before I found the OCF, and I was so glad you came through so well. My husband's second surgery is tomorrow, and I will send up a prayer for you as well. Try to keep your positive spirit--I know that's hard to do, but you must try to stay on the right side of the grass!
My best to you,
Lori

Johnny, I had a reoccurance with in a couple of weeks, I would say more like a made mistake catching me off guard. It can be tough and you have to be tougher. A lot of us beat it twice and you will to.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

ChristineB and everyone else,

They have also found a spot on the upper righ lung about 1.5 cm.
I am having a bronchoscopy this wed to see if is cancer or just a tumor. The tongue lit up like a star in the black of night. So the tongue and voicebox has a very limited life left. That is scheduled for the 15 of this month unless the cancer has just gone too far. Shall see this friday. They suspect that radiation may be able to take care of the lung, but not sure. Supposed to find out this Friday. They are comparing this to the films taken back in march. They are wanting to see if this was missed back then. Not sure why, but that is what they are doing.

Thanks for the concern and caring. It does help,

John
PS This is what an online friend and fellow blogger did for me yesterday. http://www.assertivepatient.com/2008/10/what-do-you-say-to-a-friend-who-is-losing-his-tongue.html It is a nice little story, her way of helping.
