Thanks for all the info. This ringing is driving him crazy. He's had ringing ears in the past due to sinus or colds. Also has a hearing loss from Vietnam. Now all this is magnified. He's going to oncologist on Thursday. Hopefuly he can get some relief. Do you think radiation could've magnified this?

Hi Andie, can't relate to the chemo effect of "ringing in the ears", but I have had tinnitus [ringing or static in the ears] for about 10 years and it is constant. I have found that any kind of background noise-ie-music, t.v., a floor fan going, helps distract the noise. When it's quiet or when I am very tired is when I have the most trouble. If it's chemo induced, hopefully it will go away, but in the meantime, tell him to try some pleasant background noise to help deflect it. Amy in the Ozarks

Thanks Amy. He keeps the TV going all day and night as he's presently not working. Does this affect your ability to focus and concentrate at work?
