I am just having a hard time dealing with the quickness with which things went down hill. Since being associated with this site I have witnessed many that have been taken by this cancer but none this sudden. She was one tough lady and this world is missing a good soul.

Renal failure is a better way to go...hope this doesn't sound crass - I am still devastated by her death, but I am glad that she did not have a prolonged death.
Missing Bren,

It is a blessing. Mum packed so much into the last few months - she really did "live like she was dying". When the nurses told me it was renal failure, I knew the end was imminent and I'm glad it was as quick as it was - she had no idea what was going on.
Mum - sick as a dog, see her sig. Dad - diagnosed with throat cancer late 2007.

What a way to live. My condolences to her family.

April 2006: Husband dx by dentist with leukoplakia on tongue. Oral surgeon's biopsy 4/28/06: Moderate dysplasia; pathology report warned of possible "skip effect." ENT's excisional biopsy (got it all) 5/31/06: SCC in situ/small bit superficially invasive. Early detection saves lives.

Brenda was a ray of light. So upbeat and positive and lived he last months on this earth to the fullest. She never let on that she was frightened of the end. She was so brave and so courageous and caring of others and what they were going through. I know this website was a source of comfort to her. Her illness was close to her mind always- as it is for most of us- - but probably more so for her as she was terminally ill with this cancer.
I often wonder how people go on when they've been told that there isn't anything more that can be done. It just seems unfathomable to me. Brenda was a fine example of how to not only approach the end of your life- but you life everyday-- with a positive outlook no matter what and an appreciation of all the details that your life has become - all the wonders and joys of family friends & travel etc. Although we never met in person she revealed much about herself here almost every day since the summer I believe.
I like to think that Brenda is finally at peace without any pain or sorrow-she's busy up in heaven wit her new afterlife- whatever that is is a mystery to use here on earth but I knnow that it is filled with joy and happiness. God knows she's got some good company.
My condolances to her family. I'm sorry that she had to go through this illnesss and that she had to leave you too soon. May you find comfort in all the memories you have of your times together.
