I went to my Rda. Dr today because I have a painful knot in my neck and my turkey wattle doesn't wattle it is like a lump and it hurts like all rip. He told me he thought I may have stones in my glands. Not kidney stones no I have heard of that but gland stones. Told me to suck lemons and take tylenol. Have any of you ever heard of this???

Certainly have.Saliva gland stones are quite common and if big enough can completely block the gland causing pain and swelling on the affected side.

Without wanting to worry you though i find his opinion a little cavalier in view of your diagnosis, and i have to tell you that Robs GP thought his neck swelling was a saliva gland stone, which of course it wasn't .

My advice would be to not leave things for more than a few days if there is no improvement,go to your doctor and get it thoroughly checked out,as i dont see how he can be certain without an x-ray at the very least.

Please dont think i am trying to alarm you i am just advising you to be cautious.

love liz

I've heard a lot about stones in the glands,, never had them,, but had kidney stones 12 times, Man they let you know you are alive when they move.

Went to my ENT and he thinks that I have an infection in my saliva gland but also the stones. He put me on another antibiotic, steroids and nexum. Said I have to get rid of the infection before we can see the stone enough to do anything about it. I was confused because when he did the first biopstsy he totally cit out my saliva gland and so I am wondering if this will happen again and again.
