I also had 1/3 rd of my tongue removed and am presently going thru a reoccurence with the cancer being on both sides of my tongue. I get rad seed implants soon and start chemo. I just had to have all of my teeth removed so the rads don't make them rot and cause more infection. Can't move my tongue much either, but like they say, It sure beats the alternative.. I feel that following the advice given here by the people of these forums, has helped me tremendously . I wish you well in your recovery.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April. --- Passed away 5/14/14, will be greatly missed by everyone here

I've said before that all we have to do is look around and we'll find someone who's a little worse off than we are... I am grateful for most everything these days, and have stopped taking very much for granted. It's amazing the life changes this stuff will put one through... Godspeed to you as well.
