Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 583 | I have noticed that I Bruise easily. Does anyone else have this? I never did before. Wondering.  Pitting of teeth due to Radiation. Can the teeth be sealed with a sealent? To help block tooth decay? I would like to keep my teeth in good shape. I use all the Biotene prodocts. I just got new glasses and I could see my teeth better & I was shocked to see all the pitting!  Take care Diane
2004 SCC R.tip 1/4 tongue Oct. 2005 R. Neck SCC cancer/Chemo Cisplatin 2x/8wks. Rad. Removed Jugular vein, Lymph gland & some neck muscle. TX finished 1/20/06... B.Cancer 3/29/07 Finished 6/07 Bi-op 7/15/09 SCC in-situ, laser surgery removed from 1st. sight. Right jaw replacement 11/3/14. 9 yrs cancer free as of Jan. 2015

Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 3,552 | Radiation is hard on the teeth and gums. The best preventative is regular, at home, flouride treatments. I see a dental hygenist 3-4 times a year as well.
The bruising may be an indication of your blood counts being off. I would ask the MO about that one.

Hummm, Never thought about blood counts being off at this point after treatment. I think they are OK.
