The waiting is a little unsettling, I know, I am waiting for my results post-op now, and we had to reschedule the follow-up appointment for the 26th, since the Doc is out of town next week, and this week was too early (only 7 days post-op right now). Oh well, good news travels slower than bad news, so I will wait happily ignorant until the 26th. Good luck with your final report,

Thanks for writing. I am doing great. 3 1/2 weeks post-op. I have very little pain. How about you? I'm sure you are feeling nervous about the results on Wed. I got fairly good results. Cancer was in 1/36 nodes and in my tongue(recurrent) I meet with the radiologist on Tues. to discuss further treatment. I'll be thinking about you this week. Let me know how it goes. Kim | | |

Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 325 | It was extremely good news, Dr. ENT suggested we not do radiation at this time, he got good wide clear margins, nodes were clear, no perineural invasion and no metastasis. He says I could be the poster child for early detection. I hope his optimism is well founded. Time will tell.
We will do a monthly checkup for a year, etc. etc.
What about your Tuesday meetup with your doc for further treatment? Hope he has a plan that works out well for you!

Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 122 | I think Andrea is also our poster girl for going back to work so quickly. Lack of paid days off can be good incentive, I guess. I took 5 weeks off and 6 weeks to work into full time schedule. Take it easy on that tongue and make people wait to hear what you have to say. I was the "phone" person in our office, and had to repeat the number "676-7777" repeatedly! I was dead tired at the end of day!
Congrats on your great report. I will one up you by saying "Is your tongue going to be in an ENT textbook?" I had "my" picture taken as it was healing...nanner nanner nanner!
