Tony starred with Jack in the Odd Couple both on TV and in the live theater production. Jack has frequently told me that Tony was the one who lit a fire under him to work on getting his voice back (Jack did not talk for almost 4 years after his cancer surgery) by telling him that he damn well better get rid of the chalk board and learn to speak again since he had booked them both into a Broadway run of the Odd Couple in less than a year. While only part of the book deals with Jack's travels through his cancer experience, it is a great read. He has generously given us 10 signed copies to sell to raise money for OCF. They are $24.50 apiece, plus $4.00 shipping in the US. For those of you thinking about donating to the foundation, here is a way to get a piece of entertainment history signed by Jack for your donation. There are only 10 signed copies. Diagnosed May 2002 with Stage IV tongue cancer, two lymph nodes positive. Surgery to remove 1/2 tongue, neck dissection, 35 radiation treatments. 11/2007, diagnosed with cancer of soft palate, surgery 12/14/07, jaw split. 3/24/10, cancer on tongue behind flap, need petscan, surgery scheduled 4/16/10
