My husband never had problems with sleeping until recently. After finishing TXT on 4/27/07 he has developed insomnia. We have tried Ativan, Lunesta, Ambian CR. Nothing works. He will sleep for about 2 hrs and then roam the house for a few hours, then go back to sleep for another 2 hrs. Sleep deprevation is hampering his recovery. Has anyone else experienced these types of symptons?

I experience/d this, mine was due to the mental anguish brought on by having cancer. I called it developing negatives in the darkroom. I still have an episode every now and then and I'm 6 months out of treatment. The mind just starts down a negative path and keeps going and all those horrible thoughts just keep me awake.

Morphine helped a little but not much, it mainly just made me tired. Faith seems to help me the most, but we shouldn't get in to that here.

I doubt this helps you at all, I just wanted to let you all know you aren't alone.

Linda, Is he sleeping during the day also? John got his days and nights turned around after radiation was over- he slept much of the day, then was up and down all night. He would sleep in 3 or 4 hr. stretches [about as long a 1 pain med would last] and then get up to eat something and take another med.. I have read many posts from "post radiation" folks who slept off and on around the clock for a month or more afterward. Todd is still less than a month out. What are his daytime hours like?
