They put me back on pain patch #25. Today is really one of my BEST days for the last 6 mo. I feel half alive for a change. I am even cooking tonight for family. Husband is happy about that. Diane

I am on thyroid medication, but still suffering from the hot & cold flashes. Is anyone having these problems? This was all brought on by Radiation. I had already gone through the menopause phase. I am about a year from radiation treatment. So if anyone can give me some help here it would be most appreciated. It is driving me NUTS !! Thanks, Diane

I know of Breast cancer survivors who go thru it due to tamoxin, I know my mom had it real bad due to menopause. It can really beat you down. Hopefully someone can put your mind at ease and give you awnswers. Everytime I go to my ent with a complaint he says it was due to radiation. Not that he is wrong, it just leaves me with an empty feeling.

Yes, Mark I do get frustrated with it. Now this is the deal on all of this.. It is not just a Menopause issue. The thyroid has been damaged by the radiation, so there for it does not produce the proper hormones. The pituitary glad also plays big part in this. The pituitary glad is the main regulator to the Body. (Such as Body Temperature.) Now on top of all this there is another area that the pituitary glad works with. (can't recall name at this moment) I have read so much on this subject, that I am not sure what I understand any more! Ha ha. Long story short my GP has decided to do a MRI on the head to look at the Pituitary Gland. Now the only thing this will show is if there is a Tumor there or something interfering with the Pituitary gland. MRI will be done on the 10th. One question or thought I had was; Could the Pituitary gland have been effected by Radiation over splash, or the Chemo? It might be a stretch for the radiation, but chemo may be a possibility. Well, that is where I am at on this issue. Take care, Diane

Well, nothing there all OK. Still leaves me with the body temperature out of control. I am so determined to get to the bottom of this problem!! Not sure how? Maybe it will take me a few months. Have not heard from the Dr. yet and what he thinks.
I did have Mammogram done at same time. Need to go back on that one for closer look. (have had to do before)
Having all the side effects and this one is sometimes just to much...!! A year of it is getting to me... I am trying to be patient with it all. Thanks for letting me vent Take care, Diane

Thought I would bring you up to date. I am going to see a Endocrinologist on March Th. Maybe now I will get some help and answers. My body Temperature ranges from 95.5 to 97.7. I go from extreme HOT to cold. This is not just menopause. I have been suffering for over a year.
I have also changed GP. I now have new Female GP that is connected to the Network of the cancer treatment center. So now all my information can be viewed by any Dr. I see.
My thanks to a lot of you for that. I read somewhere about being your own advocate. So I did! I was going no where with old GP.
I am also preparing for breast surgery. I go in for Prue-op on March Th and get information about surgery and date of. They will be doing a Lumpectomy.(I think thats what it is)
So I am going to be busy for the month of March. As soon as I get some answers from the Endocrinologist I will be sure to share that with you. I am a little worn but I think I am in good frame of mind.
take care Diane
